Australia has set up world’s first ECO Certification. This certification proves that the accomodations, attractions and tours are using the best practice standards in ecological sustainability, natural area management and customer satisfaction.
Ecotourism and Nature Tourism are quite similar, but ecotourism underlines the understanding, appreciation and conservation of natural areas.
You can easily identify an eco-certified operator with one of these logos.

You still want to learn more about it? Feel free to read the PDF files below:

Even if my official video on my Youtube page counts more than 3200 views to date, it took 5 long days for my application video to the best job in the world to be approved.
To be the perfect applicant to the Best Job in the World, I went to get some additional information about Australia, as well as snorkelling and diving. I discovered tons of fascinating things in my books / brochures, especially Australian cooking (yes, I am truly fond of good food !).
I first tried to locate Queensland Australia on this map and then all the Withsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. It seems that there are numerous islands to explore !

I really wish I could go there one day (”please pick me !”) to see all these extraordinary colorful landscapes. I can’t wait to discover the wonderful environment of the Great Barrier Reef. I couldn’t make a choice to decide which books to buy !

Finally, I have chosen two books. Some friends also gave me some cool brochures and documentations about Australia, the Great Barrier Reef, snorkelling and diving !

I will regularly be adding some new content on how I develop my knowledge about Australia, Queensland, The Great Barrier Reef, Snorkelling, Diving and everything that is linked to the Best Job in The World ! Here are some very interesting websites treating about these themes :
Best Job, Australia, and the Great Barrier Reef
Tourism in Australia, Queensland and Whitsundays Islands
Australia’s Fauna & Flora
Scuba diving, Snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef
You will be able to find all these links in my BlogRoll, on the right column of the blog.
The “lucky winner” of the Best Job in The World will be living during 6 months on the Hamilton Island.

Here are some cultural aspects of Hamilton Island. Hamilton Island is part of the Whitsunday Islands in Quensland, Australia. Whitsunday archipelago is composed of 74 islands and most of them are uninhabited.
Hamilton Island is a little 5 km² area of sand, forests and hills/moutains, but remains a very touristy place due to its plane runway (open in 1984). With 5.000 inhabitants, Hamilton Island is the “Capital of Whitsunday Islands“.
